Indians’ season ends in Final Four

Venice’s quest to win back-to-back state volleyball titles for the first time in school history ended Wednesday, as the Indians (23-8) were eliminated by Ocala Vanguard (25-4), 25-10, 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, in the 6A semifinal at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.

Venice scored three of the first four points Wednesday, but the Knights outscored the Indians 24-7 the rest of the way during a first set that quickly got away from Venice. The Indians committed a slew of unforced errors in the early going.
