Thursday night’s Sarasota-Venice soccer match was cut short and awarded to the Indians, due to FHSAA infractions committed by Sarasota.
The match was halted eight minutes into the first half, when officials were informed that the Sailors were using multiple players who had played in the preceding junior varsity game. FHSAA rules prevent student-athletes from participating in JV and varsity contests on the same day.
