Mike Rivera mans third base for the USA Baseball U18 national team. Rivera, the first player in school history to play for the national team, earned the award for best third baseman in the IBAF World Cup, despite primarily playing catcher for Venice High.

2013 was another banner year for Venice High athletics. Individual and team accolades piled up in multiple sports, highlighted by the baseball team’s second straight state championship. Here are just a few of the many success stories from the past year.
