Dom Marino's perimeter shooting gives Venice's opponents a threat they must address. Marino scored nine points in the first four minutes Tuesday, but was hindered by foul trouble and scored just seven more the rest of the night.

For the second straight game, the Venice High boys basketball team squandered a double-digit second-half lead, falling 56-53 in a hard-fought road game at Sarasota Tuesday night.

On the bright side, the Indians were sharp early on, storming out to a 14-2 lead and playing sharp on both ends of the floor. But as was the case in Friday’s loss to Booker, Venice struggled during the final quarter, when the Sailors outscored the Indians 19-8.
