Brandon Elmy recorded seven strikeouts over the first four innings in Venice’s 6-0 win over the Allatoona (Georgia) Buccaneers.
The Venice High baseball team evened its record at 1-1 Friday night with a 6-0 road win over Seminole.
The teams were deadlocked in a scoreless tie through five innings before the Indians blew the game open in the sixth. Dalton Guthrie and Mike Rivera opened the inning with consecutive singles, and Brandon Elmy’s double to center off Seminole starter Austin Lamoreux drove home Guthrie and courtesy runner Ryan Gumbs.
