Jamie Owen, a Venice High graduate who helped the Maryville College Fighting Scots earn back-to-back USA South titles and the school’s first trip to the NCAA tournament, has been named quality control coach for the Columbus Lions of the Professional Indoor Football League.
The Sarasota native was a two-time All-USA South defensive end for the Scots. He will get his introduction to coaching by not only working with the defensive line but also by helping with all aspects of the Lions’ football operations.
