One of the best seats in the house at the Ed Smith stadium in Sarasota is in the home plate lounge, which is directly above the press box at the stadium. Not only is the sun never in your eyes, but one can see the entire park from there.

Several Venetians spent a perfect spring afternoon at Sarasota’s Ed Smith Stadium Saturday.

Venice City Council members Jeanette Gates, Dave Sherman, Kit McKeon, Chamber of Commerce president Victoria Newman and I were invited to bring a guest and watch the game and enjoy a “light” buffet from the owner’s home plate suite.
