Boston Red Sox player and Venice Middle School alumnus Nick Longhi returned to the school in February before the start of spring training to speak with students. The team trains in Fort Myers.
Longhi spoke to seventh- and eighth-grade students about the importance of having a positive attitude, staying focused on school work and achieving a goal by working on it every day. He told students that it’s much easier to “do things right the first time” than to repeat them.
