Indians finish 1-3 in national tournament

Despite putting up some solid offensive numbers, the Venice Indians finished 1-3 in this week’s USA Baseball National High School Invitational tournament that featured 16 of the top prep baseball teams in the country in Cary, N.C.

“We scored some runs and outhit our opponents every single game,” Venice head coach Craig Faulkner said Friday. “We faced some really good pitching throughout. The way the tournament went, we played very well but we had one bad inning in each game.”
