Venice opens Perfect Game tourney with two wins

Coming off their 1-3 run in last weekend’s USA Baseball National High School Invitational tournament in North Carolina, the Venice Indians were looking to make a strong opening statement in this week’s Perfect Game High School Showdown in Fort Myers, where they’re the defending champions.

Venice did just that Thursday night, with four pitchers combining for a no-hitter in their 6-0 win over Lowndes (Georgia).
