Former Venice Indians pitcher Aaron Rhodes has been selected as one of Louisville Slugger’s National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball after he threw a one-hit shutout for the 12th-ranked Florida Gators in their 5-0 win over SEC foe Missouri on Saturday in Gainesville.
During the game Rhodes, a Florida redshirt sophomore, surrendered only a second-inning double to Missouri senior Dillon Everett. He retired the final 18 Missouri hitters in his complete-game effort, the first for Florida’s pitching staff this season.
