Seniors are the heart of Venice baseball

With the Venice Indians closing in on a chance to play for their third straight state championship, a group of four of the team’s seniors have proven to be the heartbeat of the squad as they head into Tuesday’s Regional Final against Tampa King High School.

The Indians have several seniors on their roster, but the core group of Dalton Guthrie, Mike Rivera, Ryan Miller and Brandon Elmy have been singled out by the coaching staff as the leaders of the two-time defending state champions.
