Karbach embraces her unique place in baseball

As Chris Swauger scored the Clearwater Threshers’ winning run in the 11th inning, Kirsten Karbach gave the desk in front of her an audible smack. Her frustration wasn’t directed at the Threshers, who had lost 11 of their last 12, but at her assistant, Josh Appel.

She turned to Appel and flashed a look of amused annoyance.
