Lady Indians aiming for return to states

The Venice Lady Indians might be gunning for their 13th straight district championship this season, but they’ve already got their sights set on something much higher.

“Our goal is to win the state championship every year,” said head coach Brian Wheatley, who has won three state titles at Venice and returns for his 21st year. “It’s kind of become expected of this team to compete for that every year. The district championship is just one step in the right direction.”
