Lady Indians seek third straight state appearance

Coming off of back-to-back appearances and three straight district titles, Venice girls golf coach James Slaton doesn’t see much of a dropoff for his team despite losing two players who have moved on to play at the collegiate level.

“When you lose two college golfers, that’s a pretty big blow,” Slaton said, referring to graduates Grace Gildner and Lexie Flerlage. “But with the four girls we have returning, I think we’ve got a pretty good chance to be as competitive as we were last year.”
