Indians set for tough test in opener

Coming off their 49-7 drubbing of Southeast in Friday night’s Kickoff Classic, the Venice Indians will face a much tougher test Friday when the Jack Allison-led Palmetto Tigers pay a visit to Powell-Davis Stadium in the regular season opener for both teams.

Venice head coach John Peacock said there were a lot of bright spots in Friday’s win over Southeast, including forcing six turnovers and the play of freshman quarterback Bryce Carpenter.
