When Venice Lady Indians volleyball head coach Bryan Wheatley knew his team was about to go down in the fourth set of Thursday night’s match against rival Riverview in Sarasota, he immediately put his starters on the bench to give them a breather before the decisive fifth set.

That strategy paid for Wheatley and the nationally ranked Lady Indians, who stole the momentum away from the Lady Rams in a dominating fifth set win to take a 3-2 win over their fellow Sarasota County rivals.
