The Ruger 10/22 can be called America’s favorite semi-automatic rifle. Since its unveiling in 1964, this .22-caliber autoloader rifle has gained widespread popularity. The fact that anyone from age 5 to 105 can shoot it may be one factor. Children all around the country learn how to shoot using a 10/22. As a matter of fact, it is the firearm of choice for J&J One Stop Gun Shop when we hold our monthly kid’s safety classes. It is a lightweight, low recoil, accurate and dependable firearm. It’s also perfect for small game, pesky varmints, competition shooting and just plinking targets. As a bonus, the .22 Long Rifle cartridges it uses are relatively inexpensive rounds, which means you and your family can shoot all day if you like.

Some features of the 10/22 include a detachable rotary 10-round magazine that sits flush inside the stock. It has an extended magazine release that is easy for all finger sizes to operate. The bolt handle is comfortable and the action is smooth, making it easy to chamber a round. The push-button safety is conveniently located on the polymer trigger guard and has a red indicator warning the shooter that the safety is off and the rifle is ready to fire. Also, the 10/22 comes drilled and tapped with a combination scope base adapter, so adding an optic is quick and easy.
