Where have all the whiting gone? For 20-something years, I have been enjoying the tasty little whiting fillets that I caught in Stump Pass, Gasparilla Pass and from the beach at Don Pedro State Park. But the past two years they have virtually disappeared. I catch my share of redfish, snook and macks, but my idea of a tasty fish fry is or was) the dependable and fun-to-catch southern whiting. Are they gone forever or are they in an extended down cycle? Help!
