Something that I have been thinking about as our season-ending tournament approaches on Lake Okeechobee is that the bigger the body of water I’ll be fishing generally calls for bigger baits. Most large bodies of water have larger bass, so I tend to use baits there that I may not use anywhere else in hopes of getting a big bass to strike.
This recent thought process of mine came about as some of my fishing buddies and I were talking about lakes for our next tournament season. I started thinking of the bigger lakes we could fish in hopes of getting larger bags of bass to weigh in. That conversation turned to what we all used when we caught big bass on these bodies of water. Almost to a man, we were throwing larger baits.
