Old Man Winter has been banished back to the northern latitudes. The sticky days of summer are months ahead of us. Let’s bask in the glory of April and May — two of the most amazing fishing months of the year here in Southwest Florida.
The term “transition” gets tossed around a lot, but it applies. Our weather and our fishing are in a period of flux as we cross over from the winter patterns to the summer one. Every week will be a little different, as cool air masses from our north and warm ones from the Caribbean shove each other around over our heads. That means two things: First, you need to be prepared for anything out there, and second, whatever plans you make, you need a backup.
