Back to basics

After fishing two tournaments in a row and failing to boat one keeper bass, I was starting to doubt that anything I tried would work as I got ready for my club tournament this past weekend at Lake Kissimmee. But the thing I eventually realized is that you can overthink the art of catching fish.

I spent all of Friday on the water trying to find bass for my tournament the next day. All I found was one bass, and I didn’t even catch it. Missy did, after we spent who knows how much in gas running all over the Kissimmee Chain. I even locked through to Toho to see if I could find any bass up there. Nothing. I hit Lake Cypress, nothing. I went to Lake Hatch, and that’s where Missy got hers. I fished the river, nothing. I then made the run to Kissimmee and got nothing. I’m telling you, I covered some water. For one fish.
