In the fishing community, there are a lot of people who I consider friends. A few really stand out for various reasons, but one in particular is always there every time I need some assistance. This time, he has allowed me to borrow his boat while mine remains in the shop for fiberglass repair (you may recall the tale from the May 31 WaterLine).
I was in Arizona visiting my mom this past week. While I was there, I called a few times to check up on the boat. My guys at Hoppy’s Marine got all the motor work done that I needed, but the gentleman who was going to do the fiberglass work wanted to go over a few things with me before he got started. That’s all well and good, but I didn’t have his phone number — and I was still out in Arizona so I couldn’t meet up with him anyhow.
