Tournament fishing success demands a significant investment of time on the water.

I know there have to be some of you anglers out there that are experiencing the same issues that I am when it comes to wanting to be on the lake more than you actually can be. If I had my way, I would fish every day of my life. For most of us, that’s not a reality, and if you have kids that compete in sports, especially weekend sports, you know you’re lucky to get out on the water every other weekend.

Right now, I’m experiencing this myself. There was a time when my wife Missy and I would fish every weekend. Nothing kept us out of the boat. We practiced for our tournaments regularly and competed at least once a month. Over the past two years, that has changed drastically. Leave it to the last child going through high school to throw a wrench in our plans, and I say that with love.
