This tired old man had to dig into some old bag of tricks recently to keep the rods bent and the faces smiling. It’s been challenging out there, with strong winds and dirty water, but we finally got outside into the Gulf for Spanish mackerel, and what a blessing that was — we caught enough for dinner. Trout were biting too, but they are spawning soon, so please carefully release the big mamas for tomorrow!
Thankfully, business is amazing. People are everywhere, and many are wanting to fish. It’s wonderful when things work out. The weather has made some days tough — but still a lot better than a day up north while you freeze. Everyone has been happy to enjoy time on our beautiful waters, and each day is different — we frequently get a string of similar days, but not enough of them for fishing to light up. This will soon change, and we will enjoy the calm, hot spring weather.
