This week we’ll take a look at a few options to accent your AR-15 multi-sport rifle. Specifically, we’ll focus on red-dot sights. The red-dot sights began back in the late ‘80s with a company called Aimpoint. The Aimpoint was first used at the 1990 United States Practical Shooting Association Nationals. Most said it was a fad, and would not work or stick around. That year the national championship was won by Doug Koenig. Doug had one on his pistol a few months later at the International Practical Shooting Confederation World Shoot, where he became world champion, and Aimpoint was made a household name.
Shortly after the introduction of the red-dot Aimpoint, other companies came forth with their designs and started the pitch them to the U.S. government. Aimpoint and EOTech came out firing. They are robust and work well.
