Busy week

This past week has been a busy one for the entire community. We have had Block Parties, Boat Races, Parades, Shark’s Teeth Festivals, and Birthday Parties. Peace River Wildlife Center celebrated our 32nd birthday this past weekend. We had a beautiful cake and collected lots of donations on our Birthday Wish List. If you missed our festivities in all the commotion, it’s not too late to bring a gift for the birds.

We are working on an enrichment program for our permanent resident birds. They will have different objects placed in their cages each day on a weekly rotation to keep them stimulated and entertained. Some of the items we need for this endeavor are baby or bird toys, balls (like wiffle, tennis, playground, beach, or racquetballs), small kiddie pools, and non-toxic potted plants. Of course we can always use cash donations as well, since we will have to purchase some of the items for this project.
