Celery Field, forever

The meeting site for the Venice Area Birding Association field trip to Celery Field was at Venice Home Depot. I tested the weather very early in the morning. I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts. I thought I was good to go, as it was just a bit chilly out on the lanai, however, I knew it would warm up. I felt that I did not need a jacket.

By the time I arrived I think the temperature dropped ten degrees. We piled into two vehicles and took off for Celery Field. Andy White was the leader for this trip. We arrived at the Celery Field Lake pavilion after perusing Ackerman Lake and seeing nothing. I got out of the car and realized I made a mistake by not bringing a jacket. At this point, the temperature must have dropped again. Immediately, I thought of my friend Kathy Lambert, a supreme birder friend from Maryland. Kathy likes icicle weather. She would be loving this, saying how perfect it is. I decided to do my mental Kung Fu and not be affected by the cold.
