We were driving back from an afternoon on the beach at Siesta Key. We were thinking of grabbing dinner on the island, but every place we looked seems so busy. Ultimately, we decided to just head home and cook dinner ourselves.
On the way home down U.S. 41, I suddenly remembered the Myakka River Oyster Bar — a place I’d heard about many times but never actually visited. Dining on the river seemed much more appealing than firing up the stove, so it was settled. We just hoped it wasn’t too busy.
