The pump dock. Spend enough time in a marina, and you’ll get to know the pump dock.
A boat’s wastewater holding tank isn’t bottomless, and there comes a time when it must be emptied. Normally, you’d tie up at the pump dock, and they’d pump you out. It’s pretty cheap to do, and many places offer it for free. But what happens if you’re nowhere near a pump dock? Back on the Mississippi River in Minnesota, some people would dump their stuff into the river. Most obeyed the law, but there were always a few who didn’t. I’m sure the same can be said about any inhabited coastal area — Charlotte County included.
