PRWC, a local treasure

We met my oldest daughter, Deborah, who lives in Fort Myers, one recent afternoon in Punta Gorda to have dinner and spend the afternoon together. I decided we would go to the Peace River Wildlife Center, which is located in Ponce de Leon Park. It was a nice sunny day, and we enjoyed the ride through downtown Punta Gorda, admiring the vintage buildings and houses that were artfully redone since Hurricane Charley.

We drove down the road to the park. One side was all thick mangroves, and on the other side was a short boardwalk trail through the mangroves.
