Editor’s note: Lionfish are becoming more common in Southwest Florida waters, with several having been reported within Charlotte Harbor this year. Sooner or later, someone’s going to be jabbed. It might be you. Those most at risk are spearfishmen who shoot them, but even if you don’t dive, you might pull one up in a castnet or maybe even on your hook. Would you know what to do? Read on.
