August and September are traditionally slower months in terms of numbers in Southwest Florida. There are fewer people visiting here than during the winter months, meaning there is less direct spending flowing into the local economy. Be that as it may, I like this time of year. You should, too.
You can tell it’s this time of year just by looking around. There are fewer lines everywhere. Fewer people out on the water during the afternoons. Restaurants offer specials. So do golf courses, and even some charter captains — not all, some. Of course, there’s the rain and the humidity, but that’s OK with me.
