Venice Beach is world-renowned for shark tooth hunting, but some days even the best spot will make you work for it. We had combed the beach from the jetty to the pier and had come up with a pretty meager handful of black gold. We did find a few nice olive shells and a beautiful murex. After all that time walking over the sand, we were pretty hungry. Since the car was at Humphris Park, we trudged back and decided to eat at the closest place.
Lucky for us, that place was the Crow’s Nest. There’s fancy dining upstairs, but we sure weren’t feeling fancy. The downstairs tavern was more our speed. As we sat down in the cozy dining room, we noticed a white-haired gentleman with a guitar getting set up. All right — dinner and a concert!
