Bringing in that catch of a lifetime fish is great for adults. But what about when you’re a kid? You might not be able to catch a 500-pound Goliath grouper, but when you’re 6 years old, sometimes a small simple fish is your dream fish.
I’ve been fishing since I was able to hold a fishing rod. My dad, being the great charter captain he is, has taught me the rights and wrongs of fishing. Plus he has given me multiples of those “catches of a lifetime.” As most kids do, I started out small. I don’t remember the first one, but I probably caught a small trout, pinfish, or one of the pretty ones like a robinfish. Sometimes your “dream fish” isn’t even about the size of the fish. It could just be a fish that is known all around the world, like the famous puffer fish from “Finding Nemo.” Imagine being 6 years old and seeing a funny blown-up fish come out of the water. Catch of a lifetime, right?
